A Bohunt School pupil is heading to Graz, Austria, to represent Great Britain at the European Bouldering Championships.

Climber Isabella Edgington (15) – who lives in Liphook – will then travel to Dallas, USA, later in August to represent Great Britain at the world championships in bouldering and lead climbing.

Isabella entered her first competition – the Youth Climbing Series – as a Youth E climber in 2015.

When competitions restarted last year, she won the London South Youth Climbing Series rounds to qualify for the national final, which she won.

Isabella has also won the Welsh Championships and medalled at every national championship she has entered this year – which is her first as a Team GB climber.

She went to Soure in Portugal to contest the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) youth bouldering cup in April, before travelling to Ostermundigen, Switzerland, to compete in the IFSC lead youth cup at the end of June. She then travelled with team GB to Dornbirn, Austria, for the IFSC youth cup. Isabella then went to Augsburg – where she competed in the European championships in lead climbing.
