Little ghouls and ghosts – and all fans of things that go bump in the night – will enjoy fiendish fun at the wickedly wonderful Watercress Line this Hallowe’en.
The spooktacular Wizard Week runs from Saturday, October 21, to Sunday, October 29, with plenty of magic and mayhem guaranteed.
Take a hair-raising ride with the Wizard Express steam train and dare to walk in Harry Potter’s footsteps over the famous railway footbridge where Harry received his Hogwarts Express ticket in the film.
Thrills and chills can be found exploring the Harry Potter-style coach at Alresford; meeting creepy crawly creatures, wise owls and fearless falcons; and taking ‘flying lessons’ with Professors Slugwind and Apricus.
Enjoy spooky stories and get spellbound by the mystical magic shows.
Creepy crafts will give youngsters the chance to create spooky bat mobiles, badges and, for an additional cost, conjure up magic wands.
Young visitors are encouraged to wear their spookiest Hallowe’en costume for the Watercress Line’s fancy dress competition, with three age categories and great prizes for under-fours – ‘Brand New Wizards’; four to eight-year-olds – ‘Emerging Wand Talent’; and over-eights – ‘Potion Masters’.
There will be unlimited steam train rides all week, allowing all the family to be enchanted by the Watercress Line’s four heritage stations along the route.
Don’t forget to try some tasty treats, with great sweets and refreshments available at Ropley station and other outlets.
The Watercress Line’s chief executive officer Rebecca Dalley said: “We’re casting our Hallowe’en magic to make this year’s Wizard Week more spellbinding than ever before.
