THIS year’s Milland bonfire and fireworks event, famed for its family-friendly atmosphere, will be held at the village recreation ground on Saturday, November 5.

The organising committee is holding a best guy and best carved pumpkin competitions for children of different age groups – with entry forms available from Milland Stores.

A wide range of food and drink stalls offering a hog roast, mulled wine, real ale, home made soups, hot dogs and plenty of cakes and sweets will be on offer on the night and Milland Stores will also be open.

John Collier, a member of the organising committee, said: “Over the past few years we have attracted large numbers of visitors and the event has been a resounding success.”

The fun kicks off when gates open at 6pm at the Recreation Ground, Iping Road, with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm and the firework display starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets can be bought from The Rising Sun pub and Milland Stores in advance or on the night. They cost £5 for adults, £3 for under-13s, with under-fives free. Family tickets cost £15.
