DIVISION One leaders Central A took another stride towards the Aldershot Table Tennis League championship by whitewashing Tennis C.
Phil Snelson, Paul Baker and Peter Millard all scored maximums for Central who now lead Bentley A by 25 points, although the reigning champions have two games in hand.
In a rather closer contest, with seven matches going the distance, Ash A beat Frimley A 6-4. Dave Phelps and Nigel Care were both unbeaten for the winners.
In Division Two, Bentley B pushed Tennis E closer to relegation by beating them 8-2. Robin Street and Paul Farrant claimed trebles for Bentley.
Nigel Tustin’s hat-trick and two wins for Frank Winnard helped Ash C to a 6-4 success against Tennis D. Pu Zhang won twice for Tennis.
Division Three promotion contenders Crawley Ridge B could only draw with Ash E. Terry French recorded a hat-trick for Ash, while the Crawley Ridge duo of Phil Garrett and Dave Skellern both won twice.
Crawley Ridge A eased their relegation fears with a 7-3 victory over Tennis F. Corin Moore was unbeaten for the Camberley team and team-mates Yuriy Schulzhenko and Ken Thompson both bagged braces.
Tennis G kept the pressure on the leaders with a 7-3 win against Cody C. Peter Bone won all three for Tennis and Mehrdad Abutalebi took two, as did Cody’s John Harvey.
Amy Parkes secured a full house for Ash D who beat Cody D 6-4. Jo Bartlett backed her up with a double and John Sheehy won two for Cody.
A 5-5 draw between the top two teams, Crawley Ridge C and Frimley F, maintained the status quo in Division Four. Yuriy Schulzhenko was the star player on the night with a maximum for Crawley Ridge. Ted Cornell and Kieran Daniel replied with doubles for Frimley.
Ash F dented the promotion chances of Tennis H by beating them 6-4. Graham Thomas was unbeaten for Ash, with Brian Lunn and Michael Wolfe (Tennis) taking two apiece.
Fleet C were convincing 8-2 winners over Cody F, Alan Yeung leading the way with a maximum. Team-mates John Allan and Roy Chittenden settled for doubles, both losing to Cody’s Nigel Willshire.
Ramesh Vasudevamurthy and Charles Rhodes were both unbeaten as Frimley E beat Cody E 7-3. Braybrooke B defeated Tennis J 6-4 in a close encounter. Sandra Jackson scored a maximum for Braybrooke, while Ken Lewington won twice for Tennis.
