Haslemere Hockey Club's ladies' first team drew 2-2 at third-placed South Berkshire to seal their South Central Premier Two survival.

Haslemere were 2-0 down at half time, but produced an excellent performance in the second half to rescue a point. The visitors came out strongly in the second half, stringing together attack after attack and winning a number of short corners. Captain for the day Alice Toynton had an impressive game and scored both Haslemere goals – one from open play and one from a penalty corner. Haslemere almost won the game when a superb attack down the right-hand side was thwarted by a diving save by the South Berkshire keeper. Having lost seven players at the end of last season, and two more during the course of the season, Haslemere knew this season was going to be a challenge. The team achieved the main aim of staying up. Several youngsters were brought into the team and grew in confidence to become core players as the months went by. Haslemere are looking for new players with experience or ambitions of playing at South Central Premier level to join the team next season.

Entering a new league after consecutive promotions, Haslemere’s men’s first team achieved the highest-ever league position in the club’s history. The team showcased their trademark solidity, integrating fresh talent including Alec Morgan, Marco van Raalte and Jake Coombes alongside promising juniors Richie Turpin, Sammy Regan and Ben Field. Throughout the season, the leadership of Arthur Beaney guided the team through challenges. Jacob Hall's tactical acumen reshaped the team’s approach, while Luke van Oudtshoorn’s work ethic set the standard for commitment. Ben Powell provided a commanding presence in goal, while Andy Powell's goalscoring prowess drove the team forward. Defensively, the partnership of Ross Thompson and Jon Weait provided stability. Alex Knight added depth to the team, and Josh Eve produced solid performances. Charlie Millsom’s goalscoring ability added a dynamic dimension and Iain Butcher’s determination yielded crucial goals.

The departure of head coach Rob Dilworth marks the end of an era. His leadership and dedication have been integral to the team's success.
