ALDERSHOT Town drew a frustrating blank in the north-west to remain rooted in the bottom four of the National League.
The goal-shy Shots, who saw new signing Mohammed Bettamer come off the bench midway through the second half, drew 0-0 with Chorley, ironically the only side to have scored less goals than Aldershot this season.
Danny Searle’s men will hope to get back to winning ways when they host Dover at the EBB Stadium on Tuesday night.
In the Combined Counties League, two goals from striker Tom Cursons and a penalty from Nic Ciardini saw Badshot Lea come from a goal down to beat Raynes Park Vale 3-2 at Westfield Lane.
The win moves the Baggies up to tenth place in the Premier Division ahead of next Saturday’s trip to Wiltshire to face Westbury United in the first round of the FA Vase.
And a second-half penalty from in-form striker Jack May was enough for Farnham Town to secure an important 1-0 win on Walton & Hersham’s 3G pitch. May converted the 52nd-minute spot kick after Walton goalkeeper Logan Cullen had raced out of goal and flattened Town striker Charlie Oakley, earning a red card in the process.
The win consolidates Farnham’s third place in Division One.
In the Sydenhams Wessex League, Alresford Town extended their lead at the top of the table to five points with a 4-2 win at Bournemouth.
Mike Gosney, Duarte Martins, Luke Dempsey and Craig Harding were on target for the Magpies, who turn their attention to the Southampton Senior Cup on Tuesday night with a home tie against Colden Common.
In Division One, two quick goals from Matt Graham and Luke Perkins helped Alton Town come from behind to beat New Milton 3-2 at The Enclosure.
Having led at half time through an Oli Graham goal, the Brewers found themselves 2-1 down before hitting back to move within a point of new leaders Hythe & Dibden with a seventh win in nine games.
The Brewers are back in league action when they travel to face Whitchurch United on Wednesday.
And Liphook United eased into the second round of the Hampshire Trophy when they beat Tadley Calleva Reserves 4-3 on penalties after a 3-3 draw.
