Badshot Lea manager Gavin Smith admitted he was disappointed to see his side concede a late equaliser as they drew 2-2 against Hanworth Villa in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Tuesday evening, but he was also able to see lots of positives.

The Baggies fell behind in the 20th minute to Ben Geraghty’s goal, before turning the match around in the second half. Josh Keeya equalised on 61 minutes with a deflected shot, before Baback Dehghani got on the end of Lamin Ceesay’s pass to tap into an empty net on 65 minutes and put the Baggies 2-1 up. Badshot Lea looked on course to pick up all three points, before conceding an equaliser in the 94th minute.

“It’s disappointing to have conceded in the last minute of the game,” said Smith. “However, we played really well in the second half and it was a very entertaining game. There are loads of positives for us to take.”

Kai Allsopp came off with an injury in the first half, but Smith hopes it isn’t too bad. “Kai felt his hamstring so we got him off,” said Smith. “He will be out of the game on Thursday.”

Next up for the Baggies is a game against Binfield in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Thursday night. The match will be played at Slough Town’s Arbour Park ground and will kick-off at 8pm.
