Liphook & Ripsley produced their best performance of the season to see off Fair Oak by eight wickets at Ripsley Park and take a step closer to Southern Premier League Division Two safety.
George Neave then took over. Bowling excellent lines and lengths – and swinging the ball both ways at a good pace – he proved to be too good and picked up two wickets in an over to leave Fair Oak struggling on 26 for three. The visitors went on to lose their next five wickets for just nine runs.
Neave and Janczur proved a real handful, and some excellent fielding from Rob Nicklin saw him run out the dangerous Gregor Mckenzie.
Neave took his fifth wicket in his final over and finished with outstanding figures of five for 28 off his ten overs.
Janczur ended with figures of three for 14 off seven overs.
Burton came on and needed only one ball to take the final wicket as Fair Oak were bowled out for 52. Monty Mckenzie (19) was the only batter to make double figures.
Liphook openers Ryan Covey and Nicklin put on 19 for the first wicket before Nicklin was caught and bowled by Gregor Mckenzie for one. Henry Amis fell soon afterwards for four, but Covey then took centre stage. Making scoring runs look effortless on a tricky wicket, Covey hit an unbeaten 42 out of the 53 runs required as Liphook won inside 14 overs.
