It was another double header for the Grayshott women’s softball cricket team on Sunday.

The day started with the Chargers travelling to play Frimley Phoenix Flames at Hawley & Blackwater Leisure Centre.

Before temperatures rose too high, the match got under way. The Flames won the toss and elected to field first.

The Chargers went into bat and showed off the skills being honed in weekly coaching sessions with an impressive 13 boundaries, including two sixes for Lisa.

The team finished on a nett score of 323.

The Flames batted well, with the Chargers bowlers in good form and fielding well to take five wickets.

Frimley Phoenix Flame finished on a nett score 264, meaning the Chargers won by 59 runs!

In the afternoon, the Strikers hosted Chiddingfold Emeralds. The heat was certainly on for this match!

Chiddingfold won the toss and elected to field. The Strikers’ got under way with some great batting, achieving 18 boundaries.

The Emeralds’ fielding and bowling was in great shape to take eight wickets as the Strikers finished on a nett score of 283.

After a much-needed break between innings to hydrate – and enjoy a freeze pop! – Chiddingfold went into bat.

The Strikers worked hard against some great cricket by the Emeralds. Despite the Strikers taking seven wickets, Chiddingfold batted strongly to finish on a nett score of 307 to win the match.
