TOM Grimes continues as captain after leading Farnham 1st XI to a respectable sixth place in their first season back in the Surrey Championship Division?One.

Ian Thorpe stood down at the end of last season, having captained the 2nd XI for 17 years and left the side in a best-ever fifth place in the very strong 2nd XI Premier Division.

Jamie Strachan was elected as 2nd XI captain at the club’s AGM.

Farnham thirds romped away with the Surrey Championship 3rd XI West Division title last season under captain Dan Jones and are promoted to Division Two. Another Jones, Jamie, will lead the side this season.

Farnham are not sitting back on their success and are keen to recruit players at all levels, from the Under-8s right through to the senior teams.

The club’s youth registration days will be held at Edgeborough School on the next two Saturdays (March 10 & 17) from 2-5pm. Friday night training will begin on April 27 (6.15pm).
