Aldershot & Farnham & District athletes Andy Vernon and Chris Thompson made it a unique one-two in the Great Birmingham Run on Sunday. Olympic 10,000m finalist Vernon won the ‘Brum Run’ in style, recording 63mins 32secs. The 30-year-old broke away from AFD clubmate Thompson eight miles into the 13.1-mile race to win by 22 seconds.
