A rejuvenated wooded area in Petersfield has been given a further lift thanks to a generous resident and a hard-working voluntary group.
Members of the Hampshire Monday Group recently installed a carved wooden bench at the Love Lane Space for Nature between Tor Way and the community centre.
A relocating Love Lane resident donated the “attractive” but “incredibly heavy” natural bench with its relocation impressing Hampshire county councillor Russell Oppenheimer.
He said: “I didn’t think the Hampshire Monday Group would be able to get it across the road and up onto the bank but somehow they managed it.”
The site has undergone a stunning transformation in recent months having previously been a dark and overgrown spot which often attracted fly-tippers.
