Appeal shock as part of cherished Petersfield shopping lane set for redevelopmentAcclaimed Petersfield architects and designers 6a Vision Homes Ltd have been given permission to build 34 flats opposite the station.
The Lavant Street unit previously occupied by Petersfield Tools & Fixings will be demolished along with the unoccupied warehouse behind.
Two blocks will take their place with the development also including a retail unit, offices, landscape courtyards and podium garden.
The plans were unanimously approved by the South Downs National Park Authority last summer but the decision notice was released just before Christmas.
The applicants say the development – called a “superior scheme” by Cllr Rob Mocatta – will provide a “bookmark” to Lavant Street.
