Art lovers have nine more days in which to see the free Artists for Ukraine art exhibition at St Andrew’s Church in Farnham.

The event, being held as part of Farnham Craft Month, was initially scheduled to run throughout October but it has now been extended until November 19.

It features works by more than 100 Ukrainian and international artists who are displaced or currently sheltering from the war zone.

A spokesperson said: “If you’ve not already viewed this fantastic exhibition, do come along.”

All funds raised from the art sale will go to support Kuhknia – which means Kitchen – a private network of volunteers based in Lviv.

Meanwhile Activate Learning has announced an exciting new partnership with Farnham-based arts charity Creative Response to give free arts and crafts classes for Ukrainian guests in Surrey.

Creative Response is an independent, arts-related organisation established and run by professional practising artists who work with vulnerable people.

The programme began on November 7 and will continue on the next five Mondays from 9.30am to 2.30pm at the Creative Response studio in West Street, Farnham.

The classes will enable participants to experiment with different media, materials and methods of expression including painting, drawing, ceramics and photography.

The programme will give attendees the opportunity to express themselves through the arts, make friends and socialise with like-minded people while being guided by experienced professional artists in a safe and supportive environment.

The classes aim to promote personal resilience and well-being through the arts. The course facilitators are Ukrainian practising artists and they will work alongside all the participants to share their skills, knowledge and creativity in a comfortable and understanding environment in which their talents can flourish.
