A lorry shed its load of stones on to the northbound A3 near Petersfield and shut the road for around two and a half hours this morning.

The road was closed between Chalton Lane and the B2070 junction for Buriton from just before 7am until the last stones were cleared at 9.30am. A diversion was set up and officers from Hampshire Constabulary helped with traffic management and the clear-up.
