GOOD chimes have returned to Bell Hill as the play area has been given a £40,000 makeover by Petersfield Town Council.

A junior climbing unit, toddler swing and adventure ‘trim trail’ items are among the improvements at the popular site.

A Titan swing and small slide have also been installed as part of an ongoing bid to update and improve play areas around the town.

The play area improvements were carried out by workers at Playsafe Playgrounds Ltd of Elsted Marsh while MJS Fencing replaced the perimeter fence.

Mayor Cllr JC Crissey and Cllr Jamie Matthews cut the ribbon with the latter claiming the work was worth the wait.

He said: “I’m really pleased with the quality of the new equipment and the extra provision for the youngest children.

“The additional work means the whole site has been freshened up and will be fit for purpose for at least another ten years.”
