Nearly five per cent of men who took part in a recent PSA testing event in Petersfield may have the early stages of prostate cancer.
The stark figure comes from Petersfield Lions Club as the group recently held its annual Prostate Cancer Testing Day in the town hall.
Some 309 men were tested at the event, held a day before the March For Men With Kev walk in support of Prostate Cancer UK, PCaSo and The Rosemary Foundation.
Most came back “green” but 10 and 16 men who received amber or red results, respectively, have been advised on next steps.
The Lions have thanked volunteers, sponsors Petaprint, Petersfield Town Council and EHDC for their support, with the 2027 testing event taking place on September 18.
