FOLLOWING a botched ram raid at Liphook Post Office, the service counter re-opened last Wednesday after extensive repairs were completed.

The raiders caused severe damage when they smashed a 4x4 vehicle into a wall on August 19, destroying Post Office equipment, before fleeing empty-handed.

Customers had to go to other post offices in Grayshott, Lindford, Bordon and Petersfield, while a mobile Post Office van came to help out at the Co-op’s Liphook branch, on Headley Road, on Friday mornings and afternoons.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the raid and anyone with information should call Pc Helen Carthew on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
