THE speedy actions of two members of Haslemere Twinning Association may have saved a life – after one of their Germans visitors had a heart attack.

Quick-thinking Mary Gribble called the emergency services after Peter Steimle became unwell during dinner.

The stricken guest, from Horb am Neckar, who was staying with his wife, Elisabeth, at the home of Mary and Don Gribble in Bramshott Chase, was rushed by ambulance to Frimley Park Hospital and operated on.

Mr Steimle left hospital three days later.
