CHURCHER'S College Junior School raise just more than £450 for the Children in Need appeal last Friday.

Deputy head Philipa Yugin-Power told The Herald: "We have a new scheme in school the Guild Award and one component is a charity section. And to complete his charity section Jake Elston, from year six, decided to organise a cake and sweet sale."

Meanwhile, many of the staff and children at Hollycombe Primary School spent the day in their pyjamas.
