Local singer-songwriter George Alfie and his band will officially open the first Summer Social Music Festival in the Town Park by The Shed in Bordon on August 12.

George earned the honour by winning the first Shed Factor music competition, coming out on top as the crowd favourite of seven local musicians and bands who showed off their skills to a packed crowd and a panel of music experts at The Shed.

He said: “Thanks so much to everyone who watched and cheered for us, we are so grateful to be able to open the Summer Social. We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, August 12!”

The festival will be packed with live music, dance and fun. It will celebrate the diverse and vibrant music scene, with a variety of top local and regional musicians and bands performing throughout the day, including indie rock, pop, huge tribute acts and drag queens. There will also be entertainment for children and families plus plenty of choice for food and drinks.

Headline act Madhen will set the stage alight and push the boundaries of what a party band can offer, both musically and technically. They are renowned for musical mash-ups that keep crowds dancing.

The full line-up includes Draft, The Likeness, Rock of the Pops, Grizzly and the Grasshoppers, Janine the Queen and Little Re-Mix.
