SEPTEMBER is Macmillan Coffee Morning month when people get together to eat cake and raise money for the amazing charity which support so many.
Café 1759 provided a selection of delicious freshly-made cakes, the Bordon Inclosure’s Rune Table was decked out in the Macmillan tablecloth, bunting and balloons were hung and the sun came out for a beautiful autumn mid-morning get-together.
Local residents were encouraged to take a walk to the Inclosure and earn themselves some cake as well as take part in a woodland craft using fallen leaves to create a seasonal Macmillan ‘M’ on the ground.
The event raised more than £85 for Macmillan.
Susi Drummond of Abri, who works alongside Café 1759 to support the community, said: “So many of us are touched by cancer and many of those who attended had very personal reasons for supporting the work of Macmillan.”
Her comments where echoed by Deadwater Valley Trust Community Ranger Julie Reid: “The coffee morning was a great way to show our support and bring people together.
“Anyone who couldn’t make the coffee morning but still wishes to donate to Macmillan should visit https://thy.ng/BUU005149045 and don’t worry, we will eat some cake on your behalf!”
