A campaign to cut plastic waste has been checked out by Petersfield library users.

Shoppers could save money and do their bit for the war against plastic by visiting one of the town’s refill shops.

Ruth Scammell of Petersfield Climate Action Network set up a price comparison exhibition last Friday as part of Plastic Free July to prove the results.

She said: “We’re trying to convince more people to go on a plastic-free journey.

“We’re comparing products from the supermarket which are wrapped in plastic and products you can buy from one of the refill shops in Petersfield. It’s just to make people more aware of the options as I don’t think people realise how easy it can be to reduce your plastic waste.”
