Based on the hugely successful 1984 film sensation starring Kevin Bacon, the Haslemere Players are excited to announce that their 2024 end March production will be the Oscar and Tony-nominated musical, Footloose

Showing at Haslemere Hall from Tuesday, March 19 to Saturday, March 23, with a matinee on the Saturday, Footloose simply bursts with exuberant entertainment, music, romance and dance!

The story follows Ren and his mother’s move from Chicago to the backwater town of Bomont, where they discover the local laws include a ban on dancing!

This is the brainchild of the local preacher wanting to exercise control over the town’s teenagers following a terrible car accident which claimed four young lives.

Thanks to Ren and his new found friends, this uplifting show ends up celebrating the exhilaration of youth, the wisdom of listening to each other and the power of forgiveness.

With sizzling and dynamic songs, including 80s classics such as Holding out for a Hero, Let’s hear it for the Boy and, of course, Footloose. you’ll have a hard time staying in your seats!
