I had a lovely week of playing various gigs. This Saturday, December 2, I am looking forward to playing in a brewery! 

Maverick Brewing Company based in Kingsley near Alton and Bordon have weekly live music each Saturday from 5pm to 7pm and it’s free entry. 

It takes place in their cosy “tap room” with beer, other drinks and food on hand. Why not come on down and you’ll be supporting a local, independent business.

A reminder that today (Thursday) it’s Lunchtime Jazz at the Farnham Maltings. A West Coast Jazz feel with guest saxophonist Steve Grainger joining the house band. Concert starts at 1pm. Tickets are £8 on the door.

This Saturday, December 2, The Shed, Bordon continue to celebrate free live music each week from 7.30pm. This week the band is Draft.

There is also a great selection of food and drink available from Tap at The Shed, 350 Burger, Hermanos Mexican, Siamoishi, Dylan’s Ice Cream and more.

On Monday, December 4 it is the bluegrass jam at The Keep, Guildford. Starts 8pm. Free entry.

Rushmoor Male Voice Choir have their Christmas Concert at Farnham Maltings on Friday, December 8. The programme will range from male voice classics to show tunes and popular songs with a number of Christmas songs thrown in.

Guests are the St Lawrence Chobham Handbell Ringers who will add a festive touch. This year they have chosen to support Farnham Assist, a charity that has for over 20 years offered support to older people in Farnham who live alone or are carers who may become isolated from friends and neighbours. Pete Cole has been in touch with details of his next ‘Blag Promotions’ charity fundraiser on Friday, December 8. It’s at Farnborough Football Club and is in aid of Shine Cancer Support. It’s a Christmas party with Take On Me who are an 80s tribute band. Also a DJ set from Brad Agincourt and compered by Andy Clark. Meanwhile the Vivaldi Singers tea concert is on December 9 at 3pm at the Methodist Church, Farnham. It will be a mix of traditional carols, not so traditional carols, some popular songs and plenty of cake! The raffle will be in aid of Step by Step; a local charity that helps vulnerable youngsters and helps prevent homelessness in our area. Tickets are £5 on the door.

Also on December 9 the Bullseye band (playing  50s to 70s music) will be at Alton Royal British Legion – bring your dancing shoes! Nominal entry fee for non members.
