lHigh-achieving year 11 students at King Edward’s Witley each gained at least five grades 4-9, with more than 92 per cent of subjects passed at grades 4-9 and more than double the national average gaining grades 7-9.

Among many personal triumphs, Tom Lewis achieved nine grade nines and two grade eights.

Conor Rajan also achieved nine grade nines and two grade eights, while Gulfy Bekbolatova scored top marks in every exam she took, after only a year on King Edward’s pre-sixth programme.

She will study the International Baccalaureate Diploma at King Edward’s from September. Grayshott student Ben Dowson gained seven grade nines and five grade eights and Godalming’s Alice Crisell achieved five grade nines and one grade eight. Both will stay at the school to continue their studies in the sixth form, following either the IB Diploma or A-levels.

Despite returning to the UK only last September, Megan Knight, received seven grade nines and two grade eights.

Headmaster John Attwater, said: “I am so delighted our GCSE results are continuing to reflect the hard work of our pupils and their teachers.

“In particular, this year’s cohort deserve every success.

“As a group they worked and played hard and got a good balance between all-round learning and preparing for the exams.

“They can be very proud and I look forward to welcoming them back into the sixth form at King Edward’s in a couple of weeks.”
