Five children from Beacon Hill Primary School have raised money for a Surrey-based animal charity.

The children, all animal lovers, started a club at school called Care for Wildlife.

They spent break times devising ways to raise some money and decided to do a bake sale at the Beacon Hill Christmas lights switch on.

They all baked some sweet treats, created signs, worked out prices, set up and worked on the stall and raised £95 for the Wildlife Aid Foundation.

Haslemere mayor Councillor Jacquie Keen bought some cakes and was impressed with the children’s enthusiasm and hard work.
