A teenager from Farnham has been charged after a woman was attacked with a hammer in Crookham Village.

Charlie Patrick, 19, of Runwick Lane, is accused of assault by beating and possession of an offensive weapon after the incident last Friday evening.

He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded into custody.

It comes after a woman in her 50s was attacked with a hammer on The Street, Crookham Village.

Police were called at 5.44pm on Friday, August 25 to a report that two young men were "acting suspiciously" near an address on The Street.

A woman in her 50s approached the pair and had a short conversation with them. Moments later, her arm was hit with a hammer and bruised as a result.

Officers attended the scene and made three arrests. 

Mr Patrick will next appear at Winchester Crown Court on September 28.

A 16-year-old boy from Reading was also arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possessing a controlled drug of class B. He has been released on conditional bail until November 25.

A 47-year-old woman from Cranleigh was arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit and possessing a controlled drug of class A. She has been released from bail under investigation.
