It was a case of leaving the shorts and sun hats at home as seven members of Liphook & District Ramblers tackled an 8½-mile walk from Stansted Forest on Sunday, August 16.

With temperatures finally feeling a little kinder, the group explored woodland, crossed pastures that were looking decidedly more brown than green, and climbed to viewpoints offering glorious views across the rolling countryside and towards the Isle of Wight.

After a couple of climbs, lunch was a particularly welcome chance to catch their breath before continuing their countryside adventure.

Fancy putting your best foot forward? The Ramblers’ new programme starts this month, with walks to suit all tastes.
