Water used to cascade from a slit above the exposed section of the brook alongside the northern frontage of Waitrose.
It was stopped around the time the supermarket expanded but complaints about the state of the brook have prompted calls to get the water flowing again.
The section alongside Waitrose has seen better days, with concerns about alleged pollution and overgrown vegetation in recent months.
