THE Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will fill the skies over Dunsfold in two spectacular five-hour air shows at the annual Wings and Wheels event over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The Avro Lancaster bomber and two Spitfires will commemorate those who have fallen in the service of their country at the two-day annual blockbuster mounted by Dunsfold Park, Event director Jamie McAllister, said: “The BBMF is always an emotive display, with the connection and history to Dunsfold Aerodrome.”

Returning as headline act on both days will be The Red Arrows, and the familiar sound of the twin rotors of the RAF Chinook helicopter will also fill the arena.

The ‘Wings’ of the event would not be complete without a close-up inspection of all the weekend’s visiting aircraft including Dunsfold’s resident Boeing 747 in the ‘Wings Park’, the Brooklands VC10 and Aces High DC3, all open for tours.

Supercars and classic and vintage icons put on an awe-inspiring display of power and speed on the BBC’s Top Gear race track in a two-hour auto spectacular both days. In the Wheels Zone, the popular Monster Truck arena returns offering demonstrations and passenger rides, while the Military Zone and Parade is interactive and explosive, and 1940s-style Champagne at the Blitz srikes up in the evenings.

The shows take place on Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 26, at Dunsfold Park, near Guildford, and will assist the fundraising efforts of Help For Heroes and Brooklands Museum Trust.

The airifeld is open 9am until 9pm on both days. For more information and ticket prices and bookings visit www.wings andwheels.net
