CLASS three from Churcher's College Junior School went eco-friendly when they visited the Sustainability Centre at East Meon.

Teacher Mrs Munro said: "It was an ideal opportunity for the children to learn about the 3Rs – reduce, recycle and reuse and see renewable energy first hand."

The children saw how solar energy and wind turbines are used and experienced different ways to be eco friendly by using natural resources for building homes, like wood, straw bales, lime plastering.

The class also visited a working yurt which uses energy from solar panels and a wood burner and children enjoyed doing many activities, finishing the day making woodland spirits for the centre's woods.
