SURREY Police are appealing for information about an “unexplained” accident on the A3 near Milford, which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

Police were called to the A3 just north of Milford around 4.30pm on Sunday after a motorcyclist was found lying in the southbound carriageway.

The man was taken to hospital by air ambulance and was reported to be in a ‘serious condition’.

The A3 southbound remained closed with diversions in place until midnight and the northbound carriageway was closed for a short period to allow the air ambulance to land.

A police spokesman said: “We are keen to understand the circumstances of how the motorcyclist was injured, and are appealing to drivers who saw the motorcyclist come off his bike, or were driving along the A3 southbound between Guildford and Milford between 4.15pm and 4.30pm to come forward.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage from that time.”

Anyone with any information, is asked to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference PR/P18045696.
