A self-professed Jack of all trades, Ed Johnson has published his debut novel – a crime thriller called Why am I here? Jane’s Story.

Ed Johnson, 73, from Liphook, has tried his hand at everything from running his own company and building cars from scratch to renovating bungalows.

Born in the post-war years, Ed uses his life experiences to motivate him to try new challenges. Becoming an author is his latest challenge.

He said: “I had my first idea for a book when in my 30s, but I have always taken on challenges.

“In the 1950s, you were expected to be able to turn your hand to anything.

“I love the challenges and becoming an author is my current one.”

Ed’s first novel takes place in the criminal underworld and delves into organised crime and hidden societies – exploring shady business practices and shedding light on how the underworld operates similar to legitimate businesses.
