FARNHAM’S local adult floorball hockey team, Southern Vipers, have beaten London Vikings, the six-times British Champions. The Vipers last beat them back in 2005.

The latest meeting was a UKFF South East League fixture, played at Charterhouse School, and over half the Farnham team comprised former youth players who had started floorball at Farnham Sports Centre and then progressed to the senior team.

Head coach Peter Goodman said:?“It’s a huge step forward for British players to start beating teams largely made up of Scandinavians in league matches.”

Floorball sessions take place on Saturdays at Farnham Sports Centre for under-12s and adult beginners (4.30pm) and under-16s (5.30pm). The more experienced Southern Vipers train at Farnborough Leisure Centre on Wednesdays (7pm).
