NEWLY-FORMED Hook & Odiham Rugby Club are relishing their first season and are aiming to play league rugby next year.

To do so, they have to play a number of games in this first season and from there get seeded into the leagues for 2017-17.

Several local sides agreed to play Hook & Odiham and were perhaps expecting a bit of an easy ride. However, after a narrow loss to Overton in their first ever game, Hook have since beaten teams from Tadley, Farnborough and Alton. They also played out a hard-fought draw against an Isle of White XV and finished third in the festOval tournament at Overton.

Hook & Odiham are looking for new players. They train on Tuesday nights at RAF Odiham and are currently sharing the clubhouse at Odiham & Greywell Cricket Club, while already negotiating for a pitch of their own.
