HASLEMERE II 4, SALISBURY II 0
FOLLOWING last week’s last-gasp victory, Haslemere twos were determined to win convincingly against bottom side Salisbury.
Straight from push-back, the Hampshire 2 leaders’ passing was slick, accurate and meaningful.
Jason Moore was again the linchpin in midfield, linking well with inside-halves Hall and Campbell and distributing to the wings where Putnam and Gloak thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
However, despite numerous chances, Haslemere struggled to find their scoring touch, with Putnam missing a sitter.
They kept their composure, though, and were rewarded when a shot from Campbell Hancock finished off some excellent interplay between the front six.
Hancock continued to hassle Salisbury’s tiring defence and soon added a second to make it 2-0 at half-time.
Haslemere had one mission in mind for the second half – to score more goals. Hemming, Stopher and Millsom continued to wreak havoc and with good rotation of the substitutes, there was no respite for Salisbury.
Having not scored a short corner in close to a month, extras training time paid off when Graham Stopher finished a refined routine with a flick into the top right corner.
Finally, Moore scored his second goal in as many games – albeit with a scuff from an outrageous angle.
Haslemere II: Cashman, Gloak, Gee, McGregor, Putnam, Easton, Hancock, Moore, Hall, Hams, Hemming, Millsom, Stopher.
