IT’S still not too late for Aldershot Town fans to ‘pay what you want’ when the Shots welcome Hartlepool United to the EBB Stadium on Saturday.
To mark national Non-League Day, Town fans can name their price, anywhere between £2 and £30, as long as they pre-book their tickets online or in the club shop no later than close of play on Friday.
To book online, visit the club website www.theshots.co.uk, or call into or telephone the club shop.
Tickets for the game will still be available to buy on the day but won’t be part of the promotion. Instead, normal matchday ticket prices will apply.
Mark Butler, Aldershot Town’s commercial manager, said: “A lot of our activities at the club are aimed at having a commercial result, but this is slightly different. We want to offer fans a one-off deal to see professional football in the National League.
“We hope it’s going to go well and be successful, and that we can attract a good crowd and create a great atmosphere. We have already had some wonderful people paying the £30, which is well above the price of a regular ticket.”
Non-League Day is held each year to coincide with football’s international break and the lull in the Premier League programme and to encourage people to support non-league sides.
Danny Searle’s charges currently lie 17th in the National League table after five wins and go into Saturday’s game with Hartlepool on the back of a thumping 4-0 win over Dover Athletic on Tuesday night.
