HEADLEY VETERANS 4, PRINCE OF WALES 1
HEADLEY Veterans finished convincing winners of the Farnham Sunday League’s Invitation Cup, beating Fleet side Prince of Wales in the final at Hartley Wintney FC’s ground on Sunday.
The Prince started brightly, but Headley gradually got into their stride and took the lead in the 30th minute with a well-taken goal by Paul Oliver.
Headley dictated play in the second half and after being bundled over in the area, Nick Oram-Tooley got up to convert the penalty.
With 20 minutes remaining, Oram-Tooley chested down a cross for Neil Impiazzi to fire a half-volley into the top corner from 25 yards.
Man-of-the-match Oram-Tooley cut in from the wing and rifled an unstoppable shot into the same top corner before Prince scored a consolation goal in the dying seconds of an entertaining final.
