ALDERSHOT Town have signed AFC Bournemouth defender Callum Buckley on loan for the rest of the season.
The Basingstoke-born Buckley has twice been a substitute for Eddie Howe’s first team this season, in EFL Cup ties against Morecambe and Preston North End, having previously had loan spells in National League South.
Buckley, 21, turned professional in the summer of 2014 and initially spent two months on loan with Dorchester Town, from August to October of that year. He then spent a further two months with Concord Rangers, in January and February 2015, before a spell with his home town club at the end of 2015.
He then made 15 appearances for Eastbourne Borough between February and April 2016, before featuring as a second-half substitute for the Cherries against AC Milan in Warren Cummings’ testimonial in September.
* Following a pitch inspection at the EBB Stadium, Monday’s FA Youth Cup fifth-round tie between Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday was postponed due to a frozen surface. The match has been re-scheduled for next Wednesday (Feb 1), kick-off at 7.05pm.
Chelsea Youth will be defending the trophy they have won for the last three years. The Blues thrashed Birmingham City 5-0 last week – matching the score by which they beat Cardiff City in the third round – and now face a young Owls side who have already beaten Luton Town 4-0 and Gillingham 3-0.
Chelsea captain Mason Mount scored a hat-trick against Birmingham, with Cole Dasilva and Reece James also hitting the target.
Admission for all supporters is £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. The match is also live on ChelseaTV.
