THE Liphook Crankers, who took over the annual Charity Bike Ride from LiDBA last year, have now launched their new on-line registration scheme.
The website contains a wealth of information on the ride as well as key information for sponsors and charities and links to British Cycling.
Ride chairman Alistair Halliday told The Herald: “Anyone who wishes to take part on Sunday, June 12, simply has to go to the new website at www.liphookbik
eride.com and register.
“Online entries are £15 in advance or £25 on the day.
“I am delighted with the progress we have made since the website went live, briefing charities and engaging a lot of sponsorship, and I am grateful for everyone’s continuing support, including our district councillors who have been especially helpful”.
The website was devised and built by web manager Sean Remnant who said: “We have already had our first applications for places on the ride.
“It is all up and running and I would encourage anyone interested in the ride to visit the site to find out more information”.
A charity briefing event hosted by Cranker Jeremy Smith was held at the Millennium Centre recently, which was attended by some of the participating charities, which can now register their riders though the website, reducing some administration effort and claiming charities rates by using a code.
Jeremy explained: “This new system will enable members of charities to apply online so their leaders will be able to track how many are taking part and claim the charities’ rate.”
The sponsorship campaign is also well under way with several businesses and organisations already signed up to support the ride in various ways, which helps to allocate the rider sponsorship money directly to charities.
The Liphook Crankers took over responsibility for running the Charity Bike Ride from LIDBA in October last year.
The 2016 ride is due to take place on Sunday, June 12, starting at 10am from Bohunt Centre.
