BOTH Thames Water and South East Water have apologised to customers in Haslemere and Grayshott area for supply interruptions this week following “snowmageddon”.

A burst water pipe in Wey Hill on Sunday cut supplies to 139 households for several hours and the reinstatement of the road caused tailbacks through the town Monday.

“We’re really sorry for the disruption a burst on one of our pipes caused on Wey Hill,” a Thames Water spokesman said.

“We repaired the pipe in the early hours of Sunday morning, but the reinstatement of the road has taken slightly longer than normal as we’ve had to prioritise other areas of our network that have been affected by the severe weather.

“Some customers may have experienced a slight interruption to their water supply during the repair, but we re-routed the network to bring them back into supply within a few hours.”

Southern Water repaired a burst pipe that affected households in the Grayshott and Headley Down area on Tuesday morning.

A water company’s spokesman said: “I would like to apologise to customers who are without water or have low pressure and reassure them that we are working around the clock to resolve these issues although at this stage we are not able to say when supplies will be back to normal.”
