AFTER celebrating his 50th birthday with family and friends back home in Griggs Green, Canon Andrew White has returned to Baghdad, via Erbil in Kurdistan. And the shocked vicar said: "Even though Erbil is a place free of violence it is not free of problems. It is the place where many who were forced out of Mosul, Nineveh and Kir Kush have fled to. "It is very hot and there is no longer any electricity or air-conditioning. We went to visit a lot of the families who have fled to safety and tried to bring help to as many as possible. "So far, one million people have fled their homes and 2,500 people have been killed in Iraq this month." For full story, see this week's Liphook Herald.
