THE biggest infrastructure challenge in Bramshott and Liphook is the traffic congestion that will arise from the extra housing as required under the Joint Core Strategy (JCS).

East Hampshire District Council leader Ferris Cowper, who is also the county councillor for the parish, called it a "double whammy" when he spoke at last week's Community Forum

He said: "As we know, the peak congestion is caused by the school run and both Liphook Federated Schools and Bohunt are looking at expansion projects.

"So it's not just the housing but also the growth in the school run volumes from a larger number of pupils. 

One possible developer, Northcott, has come up with an idea for a road to the west of the village but planning experts have warned firms behind new developments will not be forced to make up for a lack of infrastructure responsible for current traffic jams.
