EAST Hampshire charity TLC is committed to recruiting more volunteers in Alton to expand its services in the area.

Recently, a new group of recruits attended a workshop day at the Alton Maltings Centre to find out more about how they can help.

TLC supports and befriends local people with life-limiting conditions, either being cared for by a family member or those in an isolated environment.

Volunteers visit them to offer support, company and also to give regular carers some time off.

The charity is based in Bordon and supports people throughout Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex, providing volunteers in individual communities.

TLC’s wider community funding is partly provided by The Big Lottery Community Grant and, thanks to a People’s Postcode Lottery grant, TLC can expand its services in the Alton area.
