THERE are many good reasons why Haslemere Community Hospital deserves to care for more patients, as The Herald discovered on a special visit after the glowing Care Quality Commission report that followed a surprise inspection at the end of 2013.
We were not the only people invited in to find out more on the Wednesday before Christmas.
Haslemere mayor Libby Piper and her deputy Penny Bradley were there on a festive visit to meet staff and chat to patients.
But the biggest surprise was finding a director of Virgin Care, the national NHS service provider that runs the hospital, cleaning the wards as the first part of a series of Virgin's 'Back to the Floor' sessions.
