TO help find more homes for the 389 families waiting for an affordable home, Waverley Borough Council is offering free help to landlords with two-bedroom homes to let.

Families currently face an average wait of three to four years and many struggle to find a home due to high prices and a shortage of affordable homes.

Waverley’s tenant finder service provides landlords with a range of services, including free advice on right to rent checks, a hassle-free deposit scheme, free and professional check-in and check-out service, free energy performance certificates, and unlimited access to the council’s resources and support from experienced staff.

Carole King, Waverley’s housing services portfolio holder, said: “The tenant finder service, along with building more affordable and shared ownership homes, is part of our strategy to make more homes available.

“I hope landlords will respond positively to our offer of support and work with us to help more families find the homes they need.”
