LENGTHY tailbacks hit the A3 last Thursday when the Hindhead Tunnel was reduced to one lane each way throughout the day by technical issues affecting overhead signs.

The slip road onto the A3 was also closed and traffic diverted via the A325 and A31.

A planned full closure of the tunnel took place from 9pm on Thursday night until 6am on Friday morning.
