THE blueprint for East Hampshire's future has been sent back to the drawing board due to queries over housing targets.
Government doubts have forced East Hampshire District Council to have a second look at their next local plan.
The decision to suspend the joint core strategy will cost £120,000 and could lead to thousands more homes being built around the district.
But there are also concerns with the timing and level of influence exercised by councillors and consultants in the revised document.
The strategy is effectively a 15-year masterplan for the district overseen by EHDC and the South Downs National Park Authority as the planning authorities.
