THE TEAM behind the brand-new community store ‘Share Farnham’ would like to extend their gratitude for the generous donations that have been given by the community.

Led by the Farnham Coronavirus Helpline, ‘Share Farnham’ is a joint initiative by the Farnham Maltings, Hale Community Centre, Farnham Town Council and the Herald.

The community store will open at two locations in Farnham from Tuesday, May 12 at 10am: Farnham Maltings (Bridge Square, Farnham. Surrey. GU9 7QR) and Hale Community Centre (The Bungalow, 130 Upper Hale Road, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 0JH).

The store, manned by volunteers, will open from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 12pm.

Councillor Pat Evans, Mayor of Farnham, said: “Over the past few weeks, many people have rediscovered the simple pleasure of activities such as baking or doing a jigsaw.

"These mindful activities not only pass the time but also bring a sense of satisfaction.

"I think ‘Share Farnham’ is an excellent initiative which will allow even more people to take up an old hobby or try something new.”

More donations are welcome and can be dropped at either location. If you are shielding or self-isolating at home, call the Farnham Coronavirus Helpline on 01252 745446 to arrange for collection of donated items.

The helpline will also assist if you would like to borrow an item but are unable to leave your home. Do call the helpline, they are on hand to help.

Suggested donations include: puzzles and board games, books, musical instruments, garden games, sheet music, craft items, DVDs, toys, exercise equipment and cookery equipment.

Donated items should be clean, quality objects in good condition and working order. No electrical or petrol-powered items.

Donated items are being quarantined for 72 hours.
